For physicians and other licensed medical professionals who diagnose and treat tuberculosis. The course covers:
In depth review of basic principles of reading chest radiographs and CT scans to determine suspicion of TB or non-TB mycobacterial infections.
Course objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe a basic strategy for reading a chest radiograph
- Demonstrate the ability to read chest radiographs
- Describe at least four patterns of disease seen on chest CT scans
- Identify patterns of disease suggestive for tuberculosis and non-tuberculosis mycobacterial disease found on chest radiograph or chest CT scan
- Describe appropriate management options based on their reading of a chest radiograph or CT scan
Course format:
Includes lecture, discussion, self-paced review of radiographs, and case presentations.
